Long-term care

Better, safer spaces for long-term care

The pandemic put long-term care providers under immense strain, revealing cracks that too many people fell through.

As many countries face aging populations, the need for long-term care facilities will only grow: more housing, more clinics, more patient rooms. At Fero, our solution to this challenge is to provide state-of-the-art, safe housing and treatment spaces that have been engineered to reduce the spread of disease while supporting residents’ quality of life.

Our units offer complete control of circulation—decentralized, HEPA-filtered HVAC systems, room pressurization and airlocked doors—paired with measures to enhance in-person visitation, wireless communication and resident privacy. With lower costs and more rapid construction timelines than traditional infrastructure, it’s a solution that makes room for everyone.

“A potential solution to … the shortage of . . . beds and an anticipated … worsening situation over the next few years as the Baby Boom generation gets older.” Frank Marrocco, Lead Commissioner, Ontario Long-Term Care COVID-19 Commission

The room we need

The long-term care sector’s enduring challenge is one of capacity. Whether for rapid response in a crisis or as permanent infrastructure, Fero addresses this demand with affordable, durable construction that can be shipped by rail, road or sea nearly anywhere.

Each unit can be outfitted with a range of modifications, including bathrooms, bedrooms, outlets for medical equipment and wireless communication systems, giving you the flexibility to supplement existing operations with the resources when and where you need them.

A full suite of care

Long-term care requires a balance of residential and medical spaces. When hospitals are at capacity, onsite medical resources become more essential than ever. For these times, Fero units can come together to provide health treatment rooms right at home.

Resident-centric care

As we plan and manufacture each unit, we never lose sight of what matters most: the wellbeing of the resident. Our solutions promote healing and wellbeing through the use of privacy windows and wireless communication—allowing for more family access, anytime, anywhere.

Sophisticated video and audio monitoring technology allows for discreet, around-the-clock medical supervision, while the capacity to add more onsite clinical spaces means residents can stay in familiar, comfortable surroundings during treatment and recuperation.

See how it all comes together

Fero’s innovative approach to modular infrastructure makes it easier and more affordable to scale up healthcare capacity at long-term care centers than traditional construction. Whether you need more space for intensive care units and patient rooms or additional utilities support, everything we manufacture can function by itself or altogether as a complete infrastructure solution.
